Retrospective in traditional media
These galleries contain selected highlights from the course of my career and show most of the various media that I have explored. All of the unique works-- charcoals, paintings, pastels-- are in private, museum, or corporate collections. Etching, serigraph and lithograph editions are still available.
Theme: The search for the perfect surface
My landscapes are ordinary scenes transformed by light in a way that suggests a spiritual narrative. The style is hyper-realist in order to present this intangible quality of the phenomenal world as real. Maine is a major source of subject matter. From a technical point of view, the theme of my career has been an exploration of the ways surface texture can be made to suggest light.
